Home, sweet home…almost

Two weeks of hotel quarantine is challenging for any traveller returning to Australia right now. You’re so close, but still so far from reuniting with friends and family. With COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, everyone must go along with the social distancing and quarantine rules to help slow the spread, including ADF members returning home from deployment.

Defence Health heard about a group of Army and RAAF personnel who were quarantined in the Northern Territory in April, after returning from deployment in the Middle East.

We wanted to show our respect for the work they do by putting together a care package for their 14-day hotel stay. Each bags contains basic items to let them know we care. A magazine, toothbrush and toothpaste, some Easter treats, fruit, and other snacks were delivered to the hotel in Darwin in the week leading up to Easter.

Hopefully our ADF personnel will soon be confirmed well and sent home to their families. From all at Defence Health, thank you for your service and take care.
